Step back in time to over a century ago and explore the incredible story of the Titanic at our past exhibition, ”Titanic The Exhibition,” which was hosted at Galleri Fredstan in Gothenburg from September 21, 2018, to March 31, 2019. This exhibition was not just a display; it was a journey into the past, inviting you to experience the grandeur and tragedy of the world’s most famous ship.

The Titanic, a massive ship thought to be unsinkable, tragically sank on its maiden voyage in 1912 after hitting an iceberg. Out of 2,207 people on board, 1,496 lives were lost. This exhibition brought to life the myths, stories, and heroic tales from that fateful night.

What made this exhibition unique? It included:

  • 200 Original Objects: From personal belongings to parts of the ship, each piece told its own tale.
  • Life-Size Recreations: Walk through replicas of the Titanic’s interiors, feeling the luxury and experiencing the ship’s design up close.
  • Swedish Connection: Learn about the Swedish passengers who were on board, reflecting the wave of Swedish emigration to America at the time. Swedish was even the second most spoken language on the Titanic!
  • Audio Guides: Listen to the stories and historical details in multiple languages, making the journey personal and educational.

This exhibition was more than learning about a ship; it was about connecting with the people and stories that made the Titanic legendary. Come along on an emotional and educational ride through history’s most famous maritime disaster.
